2003 Deans Co. celebrated its centenary and to
mark the occasion
they
made a special centenary Bear, with an original
The Rag Books,
dating
from 1903 had been discovered by Neil Miller,
owner of Deans
when
researching archives.
The edition of the Bear was limited to 310
the
number of original Rag Books found. The Rag Books, so
called
because
they were printed on linen cloth, were the signature of
the
Deans
Co., hence their trade name, - Deans Rag Book Co. The
Rag
Book with this set has 12 pages of Nursery Rhymes
illustrated by E.Larcombe, and the fine mohair Bear,
with DRB embroidered on a pad is no 47.
